“Digital cognitive test performance and relationship to plasma biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease.”

Sofia Toniolo, et al. – University of Oxford.

In this study, a group of digital cognitive assessments distinguished patients with AD from healthy controls in a manner that correlated with plasma biomarkers. Performing tests online would greatly enhance their availability and throughput compared to traditional in-person metrics, improving detection of AD and determining eligibility for clinical trials. Follow-up work in expanded cohorts will investigate whether these tests can detect more subtle cognitive variation, such as MCI.
