“Flexibility of brain dynamics is increased and predicts clinical impairment in Relapsing-Remitting but not in Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.”

Lorenzo Cipriano, et al. – University of Naples.

This EEG study found that patients with RRMS show a wider repertoire of functional connectivity patterns than controls, with increased variety correlating with higher EDSS scores. This contrasts with their results from patients with SPMS, who did not differ from controls, and with previous studies from this group examining other neurodegenerative disorders, where increased pathology is linked to a less varied repertoire.
